Help a Black, disabled LGBTQ+ woman secure housing & get justice
Tw / sexual assault, abuse
My situation has become more dire. My rapist is stalking my social media platforms and got out on bail. As a Black woman, the police haven’t taken my statements against my white ex-boyfriend seriously. I am going to need a good lawyer to win my case because I have a lot going against me (being Black, disabled and a woman). I have increased my GoFundMe goal to $15,000 to cover lawyers fees and my housing fees.
For anyone who doesn’t know my story, my ex-boyfriend raped me and I’ve been raising funds to stay in a motel ever since. I am currently tackling a case with the police. Anything that you could give would make the world of difference. Thank you.
if my bones are gonna crack like glow sticks every time i move i think i deserve bioluminescence. both to complete the aesthetic and as a consolation prize
I’ve talked before about the lack of characters in wheelchairs in the cartoons I watched growing up. In the books I read, it was even worse. See, as a kid (and even now), I was really into the fantasy genre. Stories about powerful mages, terrifying dragons, and brave knights. Not a lot of call for paraplegic heroes in those stories, though I could dream and make my own characters.
Fast forward to about two years ago. Shows like Dice, Camera, Action and Critical Role introduced me to the wondrous world of Dungeons and Dragons. The ability to make your own unique characters and be part of your own story, the interaction and collaboration between the players…I was immediately captivated by all of it. It was only a few short months ago, though, that I started playing it myself, thanks to the opening of the Bend DND Meetup group.
The first thing I asked my DM was about the possibility of playing a paraplegic character. I proposed various ideas for how it could work, ranging from the character having a mount to using a quarterstaff as a crutch. All the while, I expected and feared a ‘no, that’s not going to work’. The response I got, though, surprised me: “Sure, you can do that, but instead of just giving her an animal companion, how about a walking chair?”
So now I play a halfling bard who rides around in a music-powered walking chair. Her constitution is a bit lower than average, but she has spells to compensate for things (Mage Hand to help her reach for things, spells like Thunderwave and Dissonant Whispers to keep enemies at a safe distance…). A fantasy version of myself…with a chair that has chicken feet.
There are always people who say things like ‘Well, if you want a story with that kind of character, write it yourself’. DnD actually helped me do just that, and I’m loving it.
PEOPLE OF THE BLM MOVEMENT ARE TRYING TO CAUSE AN ECONOMIC BLACKOUT THAT WOULD COST THE GOVERNMENT AROUND 3.5 BILLION DOLLARS!
❗SPREAD THE NEWS❗
(6/2/2020)
check out #boycottamerikkka on twitter for more info. this time is not just about creating an economic blackout through corporate boycott, but also about supporting black businesses. let’s show up for them
IF YOU REALLY NEED TO PURCHASE SOMETHING OR IN NEED OF SERVICES, MAKE SURE TO RESEARCH TO SEE IF YOU CAN BUY THOSE PRODUCTS OR SERVICES FROM A BLACK OWNED BUSINESS FIRST!!!!! SUPPORT BLACK OWNED BUSINESSES!!!!!
[both tweets are by Majesty Ria and tagged with #BoycottAmerikkka : You don’t need to go to Target for hair products & body wash or body oils when there are plenty of black owned stores that’s ready to cater to your needs. You can stop eating Chick-Fil-A for a while.. & support some local mom & pop restaurants with better burgers! #BoycottAmerikkka is a community effort. I started it but it’s not mine. It’s ours. Im black, so it’s naturally a Black movement but Malcolm X said “I, for one, will stand with anyone, I don’t care what color you are as long as they wanna change this miserable condition.”]

UPDATE:
Tymere disappeared 06/15/2020 at 3:30 p.m. as of right now 06/16/2020 at 6:00 p.m. he is still missing. Below I will link 2 videos which may be helpful if you see him.
see shit like this is the reason that it’s so hard to turn my back on this website. Where else, pray tell, are you going to find this kind of quality nonsense.
“Chrystul Kizer, now 19, was 16 when she met a 33-year-old man named Randy Volar. In February 2018, police arrested Randy Volar on charges including child sexual assault. But then, they released him without bail. Volar, a white man, remained free for three months, even after police discovered evidence that he was abusing about a dozen underage black girls and operating business by sex trafficking underage girls. He remained free until Chrystul, then 17, went to his house one night in June and allegedly shot him in the head.
She was and still is a vulnerable child taken and manipulated by a man nearly twice her age.
Let’s raise money to post bond so that Chrystul can organize her defense from outside prison and get some very needed medical care mentally and physically. She has suffered through years or sexual, physical abuse and trauma. She needs HELP. She does not need to rot away in prison for the rest of her life. There is a lot of hope here. Please research and help.”

Her bail is set at $400K. They have currently raised $23,512 towards that goal. Note: this is the fundraiser for her BAIL, not for her lawyer’s fees, which I was raising awareness for before this post. Please share this around, and donate if you can! Chrystul has already contracted coronavirus in prison. It would be healthier for her to be at home with her family while she prepares for her trial.
Right now it’s at $23,932. Just so you guys know, one of the four officers involved in George Floyd’s death was released on a bail of $750,000 last week. It was a lot less than Chrystul’s bail, yet he got out within a very short time period. Meanwhile, Chrystul is still in prison after two years.
I hope you all don’t sleep on this post now that BLM isn’t trending as much. Let her be home while she awaits her trial.
